Join the fight Walk the talk

Posted by: kkitsam on: September 28, 2008

I have been thinking on blogging for quite some time now, but i have to say that it was the arrest of RPK that makes the feeling stronger than ever. So now, here i’m, i’ve join the fight, and i’ll walk the talk.

Well, yesterday night was a real walk, few km i think.

At 7pm sharp, i arrived at Dataran Merdeka for the vigil night. Really not surprised when i saw the police cordoned off the area, so i decided to walk away from the police then saw a few guys across the road wearing orange t-shirts. Emm, it might be them so I walk to them, and yes it was them the Hindraf guys. Not many people yet, but heard some had gathered at the Bar Council while another group organised by WAMI gathered at Central Market. We tried to go straight to the Bar Council which is on the other side of Dataran Merdeka, but the police just won’t let us through. Instead he asked us to make a big turn to go there.

Then i decided to walk to the rear of Royal Selangor club, luckily no police here yet. Wait for a few minutes and the crowd is getting bigger, Haris Ibrahim also arrived. We light up our candles fast, before any police coming to us. Then RPK’s wife Marina also arrived to everyone’s applause. We were all happy to see her.

Someone made a card for RPK ;

but i prefer my way ;

yup, a transparent cup holding the candle, with a clear message WE WALK WITH RPK & NO TO ISA!! and another one “Ikut Suka Aku?? Abolish then!!! & FREE RPK.

We all then sing a song for RPK, a birthday song, PEACEFULL BIRTHDAY.

Peacefull birthday to you x2, Peacefull birthday to RPK, Peacefull birthday to you…….

We actually can hear the crowd on the other side, we guess it’s gonna be a huge crowd with their voice “NO ISA”. There’s more than 50 people with me and before 8pm, the police eventual had enough of us, and asked us to disperse.

We all walk away from there to the roadside near the roundabout, where we get more supports from the taxis as well as the motorist which pass by.

Picture below was taken by Haris Ibrahim

The huge Hindraf crowd who is here before us had marched to the temple at Kota Raya, and shortly after, some of us followed.

On the way there, saw this ;

well ISA was no good, but neither is vandalism. so please don’t vandalised.

Overall, a good experience, lots of different people from different ages, race and religion, all for an end of ISA.

I was there to witness the great walk. This is really a great day for Malaysian. With so many ppl that join us, for once I felt proud to be a Malaysian. ISA HAS TO GO!

Make this candlelight vigil a weekly event (every Saturday night) until RPK and all ISA detainees are freed, invite more of your friends to join too.

Hey can you cover story abt RPK trial as well.
