My thought My World

From PJ With Love

Posted on: February 9, 2009

Last night’s PJ Vigil was dedicated to Markus Ng, who returned to God on the 4/2/09. It was 8 pm sharp when we walk in from the Lotus along with a line of police. Wow seems like these police is more punctual than some of us. The moment i come to the main entrance, dang it is so funny. Just a few of us was there while many is just about to arrive, and those police already walking in. If we don’t walk in what will these police do?

Anyway we arrived with full police protection. Zorro negotiated 10 minutes for us, and we begin with a minute of silence for Markus and also Shukree before we end it with our usual Negaraku singing.

Less than 5 minutes, the police seems restless. Yes they have got the order to make arrest! Apparently those sitting in the office is not satisfied with our granted 10 minutes and ordered those on ground to be arrested.

Fuck, we thought we got 10 minutes, yet one of them speaking through the loud hailer ordering his men to quickly come in. Finish our Negaraku and off we go. No one was arrested as we move out. As we were walking out, many just arrives.

Again back to Lotus with more people joins in. James got us a card specially dedicated to Markus.

Another week passed, another point scored. No matter how the police kacau-ing us, we will still be there every Sunday. It’s not just about the ISA anymore, it is also about our rights for freedom of expression and the rights for peaceful gathering. Being intimidated by the police means handling our rights to them which we will never get back. Never ever gave up something belongs to you.

Thanks Sam

Because I do not hope to turn again
Because I do not hope
Because I do not hope to turn
Desiring this man’s gift and that man’s scope
I no longer strive to strive towards such things
(Why should the aged eagle stretch its wings?)
Why should I mourn
The vanished power of the usual reign?

Because I do not hope to know again
The infirm glory of the positive hour
Because I do not think
Because I know I shall not know
The one veritable transitory power
Because I cannot drink
There, where trees flower, and springs flow, for there is nothing again

Because I know that time is always time
And place is always and only place
And what is actual is actual only for one time
And only for one place
I rejoice that things are as they are and
I renounce the blessed face
And renounce the voice
Because I cannot hope to turn again
Consequently I rejoice, having to construct something
Upon which to rejoice

And pray to God to have mercy upon us
And I pray that I may forget
These matters that with myself I too much discuss
Too much explain
Because I do not hope to turn again
Let these words answer
For what is done, not to be done again
May the judgement not be too heavy upon us

Because these wings are no longer wings to fly
But merely vans to beat the air
The air which is now thoroughly small and dry
Smaller and dryer than the will
Teach us to care and not to care
Teach us to sit still.

Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death
Pray for us now and at the hour of our death

T.S Eliot. Ash Wednesday, I
